79 Kenyan students have been evacuated from Ukraine, the government has said.
In an update by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday, March 1, the government negotiated for unrestricted entry of Kenyans into the neighboring EU states due to the situation in Ukraine.
The request was honored by Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania that Kenyans cross their borders via simplified procedure.
"74 Kenyan students are in Poland in different cities of Warsaw, Krakovets and Katowice, 2 in Romania, 2 in Hungary, one is back to Kenya and 4 have shown no interest of leaving Ukraine citing personal reasons," the statement read in part.
