Police are pursuing robbers who shot and injured two police officers in a daring robbery at Ushirika Bank in Kimilili on Tuesday, Bungoma County.
Reports indicate that the robbers made away with Sh25 million.
The robbers ambushed the officers and the bank manager when they were escorting the money to the bank.
According to a police report, the Ushirika bank manager Kennedy Khalakai was shot in the stomach.
“The three were taken to Kimilili Sub-County Hospital and later transferred to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret for advanced treatment. They are all in stable conditions,” police said in a report filed at a Kimilili police station.

Police staged a fierce exchange with robbers before they escaped.
Equity Bank released a statement indicating that all its employees at the branch were safe, adding that no money was lost during the incident.
“Dear Member, We had an incident where armed robbers gained access into the banking hall of our Kisumu Angawa Branch. Security agents led by local authorities are currently on the scene. All staff are safe and no cash was lost,” Equity Bank said in a statement on Wednesday.
