Blow to Politicians as Government Bans Them from Schools

The government on Friday dealt politicians a blow after it directed that no politician will be allowed to enter any school till the national exams are concluded.

Speaking at Kimunyu Primary School in Kiambu County, Education CS Prof George Magoha affirmed that no political rally shall be allowed near any school till the exams are completed.

"We are making absolute banning and politicians will only be allowed within the school premises after all exams are done and materials transported back to Embakasi in Nairobi," Magoha stated.

He added that he had briefed President Uhuru Kenyatta on the directive and any politician violating the directive shall face the full force of the law.

"There will be no exemptions here and I have briefed the President whom we are together in this. If you try, you will face the full force of law. Children have a right to sit exams in a conducive environment and that we have guaranteed to offer," the CS added.

The CS advised the political class to hire stadiums across the country for their rallies, rather than holding them in schools.

Menwhile, Magoha indicated that centre managers who have been hired to manage exams in other locations will be fairly compensated and there was no need for any ‘noise’.
