The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission will probe remarks by Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria over his vote-rigging claims.
Statement by the IEBC Chair stated that the commission was aware of the remarks by Kuria and they were looking into them.
"We are aware of what he said but people always have their versions of what they said. So our investigation team is probing before we summon him," Chebukati said.
This comes hours after Moses Kuria generated a lot of buzz on social media after he claimed that they rigged votes for President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Kuria spoke during the UDA NDC on Tuesday where DP William Ruto was unveiled as UDA party flagberer.

"Kuna wengine wanasema ati kura ya mlima itagawanywa; mheshimiwa Ann Waiguru, Rigathi Gachagua, Muthomi Njuki, Kimani Ichung’wa, Senator Linturi, Alice Wahome, Faith Gitau, Kimani wa Matangi…Sisi ndio tulikuwa tukishikilia Uhuru kura, na sisi ndio tulikuwa tunamuibia kura,” Kuria stated.
Loosely translates to: "Some people are saying that the Mt Kenya votes will be divided; Governor Ann Waiguru, Rigathi Gachagua, Muthomi Njuki, Kimani Ichung’wa, Senator Linturi, Alice Wahome, Faith Gitau, Kimani wa Matangi... we are the ones who protected Uhuru's votes and we are the one who rigged for him votes".
Kenyans took to social media to demand action even as leaders asked the IEBC to summon the MP.
The MP however appeared to have reneged on the remarks after he posted a message on Facebook appearing to suggest he was misquoted.
"Ben Githae is my witness. Tuliimbia Uhuru Ndani Ndani Ndaani mpaka akashinda," he said.
Loosely translates to: " We sang for Uhuru on his way to the presidency".
Though the MP did not directly seek to clarify his vote-rigging remarks, the statement came at a time when he was facing backlash for his remarks.
The Statement was to ostensibly exonerate himself from the negative impact of what his remarks caused.
