Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) secretary-general Edwin Sifuna has disclosed details of a prayer for Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria after his recent electric remarks.
Speaking at an Azimio La Umoja rally on Saturday, the Nairobi senatorial aspirant intimated that they are praying that God 'heals' Kuria's mouth and soul.
“Sisi hatutamtukana. Tutamuombea Mungu yule ambaye aliponya mguu wake uliochomeka aponye mdomo wake na hiyo roho yake.” Sifuna stated.
Which loosely translates to: “We will not insult him. We’ll pray to the Lord who healed his burnt feet to heal his mouth and soul.”
This comes as even a section of ODM leader Raila Odinga allies called for the arrest of the vocal lawmaker over his recent remarks that they termed as hate speech.
Speaking during the same rally on Saturday, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino called on the Inspector General of Police to arrest Kuria over remarks he made in Gatundu on Friday.
"We want to ask the IG to arrest him because he is profiling certain communities. Let him be in custody for claiming that someone from other communities cannot be president in this country," the Embakasi MP remarked.
On Friday, Kuria irked a section of Kenyans on social media after he said that President Uhuru Kenyatta would be cursed for supporting the former Prime Minister for the Presidency.
He claimed that there was an oath made by his community not to support leaders from certain communities who had not undergone some rite of passage.
