Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua has officially joined the Azimio La Umoja movement led by ODM leader Raila Odinga.
Karua, who has been cagey on her political direction, joined the Azimio La Umoja team on Wednesday after an intense discussion with the opposition chief.
Speaking to the press after consultation with the Azimio leader, Karua said Raila is her preferred successor in the 2022 race.
"I'm here to confirm that Narc Kenya and I are supporting the Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga," Martha Karua.
Karua had declared interest in the Kirinyaga governor seat but some leaders have been billing her as a potential running mate of the two leading presidential flagbearers.

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has been categorical in begging Karua to join the Kenya Kwanza Alliance and deputies DP William Ruto.
"To my good friend and soul mate Hon Martha Karua. We cannot make ourselves ideal humans from clay. We can only live with the ones God gave us, with all their imperfections and frailties. Pick a side and put on your Jersey," Kuria said Monday in his Facebook post.
In an interview with Citizen Tv, she welcomed the idea of being endorsed as Raila's running mate terming it as an honbour.
Martha Karua is one of the formidable female politicians in the country who have dared to wrestle powerful men in the quest for power.
She shot in the limelight in 2007 while defending the election of former president Mwai Kibaki after the opposition team opposed the results.
However, she had before established a name as formidable woman from way back in 1990's by actively participating in leadership.
As a good debater, she went a notch hired and threw her hat in the ring for the presidency in the 2013 elections, joining the list of few women who vied for the seat.
