Billionaire businessman Christabel Wambura Maranga will be vying for the Mathira parliamentary seat on a Jubilee ticket in forthcoming August 9, polls.
The 77-year-old was on Friday unveiled as the Jubilee party flagbearer in Mathira constituency at the party's headquarters in Pangani, Nairobi.
She was welcomed to the party by officials led by Secretary-General Jeremiah Kioni and the party's director of elections Kanini Kega
Christabel is a renowned businesswoman with wealth estimated to be in the billions.
"The Jubilee Party receives a delegation from Mathira Constituency led by Hon. Wambura Wa Maranga is seeking the Mathira Constituency MP seat on a Jubilee ticket. Karibu Nyumbani!" the party wrote on Facebook.

The 77-year old might face the incumbent MP Rigathi of the UDA party in the event he vies to defend the seat.
Rigathi is being billed as a potential running mate of the DP in the August 9, polls.
The MP has already paid for his nomination fee for the Mathira seat, an indicator that he could also vie for the seat.
