Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i has ordered the immediate arrest of a goon who pelted the ODM leader's convoy and chopper with stones.
In a statement, the CS directed the National Police Service to take action and ensure those involved are brought to book.
"I call upon the National Police Service to investigate the matter and ensure that all the culprits and their masterminds are made to swiftly and decisively face the consequences of their criminal actions," Matiang'i said.
The CS expressed his disappointment in the incident stating that such acts risk taking the country back to elections violence.

"The regrettable incident is a sad and atavistic reminder of the ugly face of violent political intolerance that our beloved motherland has worked hard to consign to the annals of a painful history in the last 14 years," he said.
The remarks by Matiang'i come after the ODM chief was attacked after he attended the burial of Mzee Jackson Kibor in Ziwa, Uasin Gishu County.
The ODM leader in his statement faulted the Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago and Soy MP Caleb Kositany for the attacks.
Uasin Gishu is believed to be deputy president William Ruto's political bastion.
Junet told Citizen Tv that they saw the two appearing suspicious when they arrived at Mzee Kibor's burial.
He noted their activities when they arrived signalled they could be up to something bad.
