Days after ODM Party Leader Raila Odinga's helicopter was attacked in Uasin Gishu county during Mzee Jackson Kibor's burial, the ODM party has questioned the training the rowdy mob allegedly underwent.
Through its national chairman MP John Mbadi, the party claimed that the rowdy youth who stoned the chopper appeared more organized and seemed to have undergone some basic training, especially from the way they handled the few police officers who were trying to contain them.
According to Mbadi, police officers should do thorough investigations apart from summoning the three leaders from the county, adding that there is more than meets the eye in the Friday incident.
"From the look of things, those youths who attacked Raila's chopper were not just ordinary people. They looked like people who have undergone some basic security training and drills,” claimed John Mbadi.
Mbadi, who was addressing the press at Parliament buildings on Monday, said the youths seemed organized in the way they conducted the attacks, claiming they should have been taken through some pieces of training.

"You could easily see the kind of coordination, the kind of skills that the youths had in terms of even retreating when the police were firing in the air. That is a clear indication that these youths had been trained, given some basic security drills, and that they have paramilitary know how" he added.
Mbadi went ahead to claim that a certain presidential candidate could have sensed defeat come August general polls and could be planning to misuse the youths.
He warned that equipping the youth with paramilitary skills could be extremely toxic and dangerous especially when the country is preparing for elections.
"I want to speak on behalf of the ODM party that we feel and smell that something is going on in this country. That some people who have already sensed defeat are actually trying to organize our youths and taking advantage of their desperation" said Mbadi
Already, Deputy President William Ruto and a number of his brigade have come out to condemn the chaos and ask for forgiveness from Raila Odinga. The DP said he was focused on ensuring peace is essential going into the polls, adding that police should move with speed and arrest all the culprits.
Ruto assured the country that his UDA party is determined to ensure peaceful campaigns and that if any of its candidates will be found culpable, they will be denied tickets.
