Kenya Kwanza on Saturday, April 9, led by Deputy President William Ruto announced that Nyamu had dropped her senatorial bid and would back Wanjiru for the senate seat. 

On the other hand, Wanjiru dropped her gubernatorial ambition for Senator Johnson Sakaja who will fly the Kenya Kwanza flag for the Nairobi Governor seat.

Taking to her social media pages, Nyamu thanked her Nairobi team for the spirited campaigns as she eyed the Senate seat.

She noted that all the efforted would not go unrewarded adding that her party, UDA recognized the same.  

"My Nairobi team we worked so hard in the senate race. I want you to know that all that work is not in vain. My party UDA recognizes our efforts na mbele iko sawa. Hatupangwingi," she stated.
