Former Funyula MP Paul Otuoma has bagged the ODM party ticket in the Busia Governor race.
The second time aspiring governor won the seat in a hotly contested race pitting him against Busia woman representative Florence Mutua.
The party's National Elections Board county returning officer Charles Tipps declared Otuoma the winner after he garnered 49,330 votes against Mutua's 30,696 from all the 160 polling stations which hosted the polls.

In the same primaries, Catherine Omanyo was the duly elected ODM county woman rep candidate. She garnered 29,273.
Omanyo beat Beatrice Naburi Nakholi who got 17,642 votes against Pamela Ojiambo Riziki who came third with 16,219 votes.
The exercise was conducted electronically, something that ensured the ODM party conducts a peaceful exercise,
Otuoma lauded the party for being transparent and pledged to work with Mutua in delivering the best leadership for the county.
"Let us work together for the betterment of Busia County. We have been nominated to carry the ODM ticket to face other aspirants in the August polls, let us prove that we are indeed the best for the County,” he stated
Busia is the first county ODM party has conducted party primaries.
