EX-CS Charles Keter Breaks Silence After Humiliating Defeat in UDA Elections

The United Democratic Alliance Party on Thursday conducted party nominations in 36 counties in the country.

The UDA nominations saw some big political names floored in the primaries and new entrants win the tickets for the seats.

Among those who were floored in the primaries is Former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Charles Keter.

The EX-CS has finally broken his silence following the defeat.

In a message he shared on his social media handle on Saturday, the ex-CS thanked the Kericho people and his supporters for conducting peaceful primaries.

He at the same time congratulated those who won and sent them a message of goodwill.

"I wish to thank the great people of Kericho for turning up to vote peacefully in the just concluded nominations exercise. I congratulate all winners and wish them all the best. To all my supporters, agents and teams, I convey my appreciation and gratitude for your support," Keter said.

Keter lost to Eric Mutai who floored the Ex-CS with a huge margin despite lacking the financial muscle to put a well-oiled campaign.

In the polls conducted, Mutai got 126,038 votes while Keter came in second with 60,342 votes.

Mutai had been billed as the looming UDA party ticket flagbearer before the primaries owing to the huge support he visibly enjoyed.
