UDA party nominations were on Tuesday, April 19, suspended at Kionange Primary School in Nakuru West after armed goons reportedly stormed the station and took away the polling materials.
According to reports, the unknown people who were wielding knives stormed the station, destroyed the ballot boxes and scattered the polling materials leaving voters who were already lining up stranded.
Speaking to the press, a Presiding Officer at the station said they tore a number of unused polling ballot papers, scattered the pieces, and snatched a phone and a ballot box before disappearing.
One police officer who was manning the station was reportedly overpowered by the large number of goons who attacked the station.
"They stormed the polling station, tore some polling materials, and took away the ballot boxes and a phone before disappearing. We only had one security person at the time and they overpowered him" stated the Presiding officer in charge of the station.
Similar cases of chaos and malpractices have also been reported from Nandi Hills constituency which is also conducting the nominations.
From the videos shared online, a number of goons could be seen surrounding a Toyota Prado which they suspected was carrying Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi's agents in Nandi Hills.
They threatened to stone the vehicle before ordering its occupants to vacate the place.
The same was witnessed at Lengubei Poling station, Nandi Hills Constituency after goons alleged to be allied to the incumbent destroy poll materials.
