Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance coalition party leader Raila Odinga is set to leave the country on Friday, April 22 for a tour of the United States of America.
The former Prime Minister is expected to be in the US for a week before jetting back into the country on April 29.
Among politicians in Raila’s entourage to the US is Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua, ODM deputy party leader Wycliffe Oparanya and Kisii Governor James Ongwae among others.
When contacted by this journalist, Raila’s campaign press secretary Dennis Onsarigo said that the full details of the trip would be given.
The trip comes a month after the ODM leader toured the United Kingdom where he held several meetings with UK government officials.
Raila also met with Kenyans living in the UK during the tour as he drummed up support for his candidature in the upcoming August polls.
The former Prime Minister also used the opportunity to tear into Deputy President William Ruto over Jubilee’s failed promises.
“The children who were promised laptops are now completing Form 4. And when they finish Form 4, you are now telling them kazi ni kazi. You want to give them wheelbarrow,” Raila said at that time.
The DP also toured the US a month ago where he used the opportunity to allege a plan to rig votes in the upcoming August election.
Ruto said that there was a plan by government institutions to compel voters to vote in a certain way adding that democracy had been sabotaged.
