Comedian Jasper Muthomi, alias MC Jessy, has revealed that he never quit the race to be South Imenti MP.
This is after Deputy President William Ruto released a statement saying the comedian had accepted to step down in the race and back his opponent Mwiti Kathaara.
MC Jessy now says he was called for a meeting at Deputy President William Ruto's Karen residence where he was to meet his fierce rival in the race.

On arrival, he met his competitor and the DP urged them to deliberate and settle on one candidate for the seat.
Shockingly, he says, he learnt that the DP had announced that he had quit the race in favour of his opponent.
"I went there knowing that I was the prominent aspirant, I had even told the people that were we going for nominations. Maybe the mistake I made was to accept dialogue.
"I did not stand there to admit that we had agreed to step down, when people visit Ruto's residence they take photos and the information about me stepping down was shared later on social media platforms. That was not what we agreed," the comedian has said.
MC Jessy claims that the pictures shared by the DP were taken way before he met his opponent for talks.
He noted that they were yet to agree on anything when the photos were taken and that what was announced did not happen.
"MC Jessy will join the presidential campaign team after postponing his parliamentary bid in favour of Mwiti Kathaara for the South Imenti Seat,” Ruto said in a social media post.
The post by the DP was pulled down several times before it was finally posted. No explanation was given on that.
