State House Deputy Director for Branding and Events Thomas Kwaka, alias Big Ted, and former Dagoretti South MP Dennis Waweru have landed powerful positions in President Uhuru Kenyatta's latest appointments.
In a statement by Foreign Affairs CS Raychelle Omamo on Friday, the President appointed 24 new Ambassadors and High Commissioners.
The Head of State also appointed 7 new Ambassadors who would serve as Deputy Heads of Mission and 4 officials to the post of Consul-General.
Big Ted and Waweru were among the four who were named as Consul-Generals. The duo was named alongside Dennis Mburu and Benson Mwaliko.
The newly appointed Ambassadors included Clement Nzomo (Angola), Mary Mogwanja (Austria), Prof. Bitange Ndemo (Belgium), Muthoni Gichohi (China), Amb. Gathoga Chege (Cuba), Dr. Caroline Wanjiru Karugu (Denmark), Amb. Salim Salim (Djibouti), Maj Gen A.G. Matiiri (Egypt), Amb. Galma Boru (Indonesia) and Paul Ndung’u (Mozambique).

Others were Michael Sialai (Namibia), Maj Gen Andrew Ikenye (Nigeria) Margaret Shava (Netherlands), Amina Abdalla (Oman), Amb. Nyambura Kamau (Pakistan), Bonface Mwilu (Qatar), Amb. Diana Kiambuthi (Rwanda), Amb. Michael Oyugi (Spain), Maj Gn (Rtd) Thomas Chepkuto (Somalia), Amb. Isaac Njenga (Tanzania), Leonard Boiyo (Turkey), Maj Gen (Rtd) and George Owino (Uganda).
Prof, Richard Bosire was appointed Ambassador/Permanent Representative to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) while Maj. Gen (Rtd) Charles Gituai was appointed Ambassador/Permanent Representative to IGAD.
President Kenyatta also appointed an Ambassador and a Special Envoy for Maritime and blue Economy and further promoted six senior Foreign Service Officers to the rank of ambassador.
