Deputy President William Ruto met nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura days after the latter lost in the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party nominations.
Mwaura was defeated by the incumbent Ruiru Member of parliament (MP) Simon King'ara Ng'ang'a who clinched the UDA ticket.
The Deputy President has now appointed Mr. Mwaura as the leader of Kenya Kwanza's National campaigns in Kiambu county.
"Welcome Isaac Mwaura to the Kenya Kwanza national campaign. Your magnanimity to accept the outcome of our just concluded party nominations in Ruiru Constituency adds to your leadership credentials.
"I wish you well in your new role as team leader in Kiambu County and also in the community of people living with disabilities," DP Ruto stated.

The nominated senator had initially rejected the UDA nomination results before he changed tune and conceded defeat.
"Joining hands with my competitor Simon Ng’ang’a today at Kist county tallying center after he was declared winner of the Ruiru parliamentary seat that I hotly contested for.
"It’s now time to heal the deep wounds out of the party primaries and thus move forward towards the August general elections. This is to ensure that the party remains united and focused towards our aim of ensuring that H.E Deputy President William Ruto becomes the 5th President our great country. ," the Senator said in a statement.
