Muchiri lost to businessman Kiarie Badilisha in the nominations.

This comes after Azimio La Umoja One Kenya coalition party named former Nairobi Deputy Governor Polycarp Igathe as the coalition party’s gubernatorial candidate in Nairobi.

Igathe will be deputized by former Kibwezi MP Prof. Phillip Kaloki.

Kenya Kwanza and Azimio have now tapped into the corporate world as Igathe has previously held top corporate positions, being a former Equity Group Holdings chief operating officer.
