The late retired President Mwai Kibaki's body will be transported by road to the burial site at his Othaya home in Nyeri County on Saturday.
Addressing the media on Wednesday, April 27, Principal Adminstrative Secretary in the Office of the President, Kennedy Kihara, refuted claims that Kibaki's body would be transported by a military helicopter.
According to Kihara, the late former President's body will leave Lee Funeral Home early Saturday morning before heading to Othaya, a journey expected to take approximately three hours.
"Unless the plans change, we want to come by road. And due to security reasons we will not tell you the route," Kihara stated.
