More than 40 passengers on Monday narrowly cheated death after the bus they were travelling in burst into flames.
The Guardian Angel bus they were travelling in burst into flames in the Buoye area on the Ahero-Kisumu road.
The bus was on its way to Nairobi from Busia when the tragedy struck at about 5.45 am.
What caused the fire is yet to be established.
Kisumu county police commander Alphonse Kimathi said the bus was carrying 45 passengers and no casualties were reported.

"There are no injuries and officers are on the ground," Kimathi told a local media house.
Police officers and firefighters are at the scene to contain the situation. At 8 am, the firefighter was still fighting the fire.
Passengers who were evacuated safely were standing along the road in shock as they count losses and at the same time thank God for a narrow escape.
Police officers were also in action pushing away locals who had gathered at the scene.
