The Jubilee party has nominated Murang'a women rep Sabina Chege and Peter Kenneth for consideration as Raila Odinga's running mate on the Azimio One Kenya ticket.
In the statement issued on Thursday, May 5, Jubilee proposed the two names with different parties in the Azimio coalition eyeing the deputy position.
Odinga formed a 7-member committee that was to vet the possible deputy ahead of the August election.
However, the move to appoint the committee has caused tension in Azimio with Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka announcing that he would not be attending the interviews.
"I have tremendous respect for the panel that has been appointed. But they should understand me. I am not arrogant and rude. It is the people who say that the process is not for me because I have been a vice president and a running mate two times," Kalonzo said.
