Renowned Kenyan lawyer Ahmednasir Abdulahi has urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to distance himself from the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) constitutional amendment push, terming it ‘shambolic’.
In a series of tweets , the Senior Counsel who served as one of President Kenyatta’s lawyers during the 2013 and 2017 presidential petitions noted that the Head of State needs to step away as the BBI push will be reject by Kenyans.
As to who should lead the campaign against the referendum, Ahmednasir recommended Governor Kivutha Kibwana or Narc-Kenya leader Martha Karua to spearhead the no team.
“BBI is chaos and shambolic. H.E Uhuru must keep his distance from this dirt.
“I don't think the "NO" to BBI needs a political heavyweight like DP Ruto, Hon Martha Karua or Prof Kibwana to lead it. BBI will be strangled and killed by the hands of Wanjiku.
