The Media Council of Kenya has fingered two UDA politicians for threatening journalists.

According to the Council, they have documented 45 cases of journalists' rights being violated with most of the cases related to the elections.

Among those who were faulted for issuing threats to Citizen Tv include Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi and his South Mugirango counterpart Sylvanus Osoro.

"We particularly take note of the latest verbal attack against Citizen TV by Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi vide a social media post meant to intimidate the editorial discretion of the station. Hon Sudi's statement comes after a similar threat by South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro who castigated the media outlet for alleged biased reporting," MCK CEO David Omwoyo Omwoyo said.

Omwoyo noted that the Kenyan media is guided by a professional code of conduct with sufficient mechanisms for self-regulation.

The MCK CEO said politicians with issues should file through the Media Complaints Commission.
