At least eight people have been reported dead and several others injured in a freaky morning accident at Maai Mahiu along Nairobi, Narok highway.
According to reports, the eight lost their lives after the bus they were traveling in collided head-on with an oncoming truck. The bus was heading to Kisii while the truck to Nairobi before the unfortunate accident.
Confirming the incident, Nakuru traffic base police commander, Beatrice Kuragui, said out of the eight victims who lost their lives, four were men and the other four were women.
Kuragui stated that they were at the scene moving the wreckage to a police base.
The police have managed to secure the area and cleared off any traffic snarl-ups that could have occurred due to the accident.
Four other passengers reportedly sustained serious injuries and have been rushed to different medical facilities within Naivasha where medics are trying to stabilize them.
This comes in the wake of a similar accident reported in April in Maai Mahiu. Four people were reported dead after a lorry ferrying mattresses rammed into a 14-seater matatu.
The accident happened at the Nairegia-Enkare junction and the four passengers died on the spot while the injured were rushed to the Narok County Referral Hospital
