The court has handed former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko a short relief in a child support case filed by a woman who claimed to be his former lover.
In a ruling on Thursday, May 26, Ngong Senior Principal Magistrate Pamela gave the flamboyant politician 21 days to respond to the matter.
The senior Magistrate ruled the former county boss’s defence team files a response to the court before the hearing of the matter is done.
The woman in the case had demanded a monthly stipend of Sh448,450 to cater for the needs of her 15-year-old daughter who she claimed to have been fathered by Sonko.

She further demanded that Sonko pay Sh86,000 for the kid’s school fees and a further Sh30,450 for other school-related expenses.
The woman stated in court papers that she had been willing to have a DNA test to prove who was the father of the child, and the former county boss was aware.
“I have always been willing to have a DNA test done to prove the paternity of the minor, a fact which Sonko is well aware of as we have discussed the same on several occasions,” the woman stated in the court papers.
In a prompt response to the woman’s claims, Sonko said he was ready to take care of the kid and advised the woman to take the child to his premises but alleged the woman was using her kids to blackmail men.
"Just like Jesus said “let children come to me...” Am kindly asking the lady alleging that she has my 15 years old kid to bring the kid to me just the same way her two other kids Jabali and Riley were recently taken from her by her ex-boyfriend Austin who now stays with them at Langata coz huyu dame hutumiya watoi kublackmail ndio apewe doo ya kudunda 24/7," he said in a Facebook post.
