Mathira MP and Deputy President William Ruto's running mate Rigathi Gachagua has wished his Gatundu South counterpart Moses Kuria well in his gubernatorial aspirations.

Rigathi Gachagua was among the special guests who graced Kuria's event on Friday night as he officially launched his gubernatorial manifesto in Kiambu county.

Through a statement on his Facebook page, Rigathi congratulated the Chama Cha Kazi party leader, describing his bid to serve the people of Kiambu county as timely and well deserved.

Despite being in the UDA party, which has also fielded Senator Paul Kimani Wamatangi as its flag bearer in the August 9, race, Gachagua assured Kuria that he will be in his prayers and that of his family.

"Congratulations my brother, friend, colleague, and our indefatigable General, Hon. Moses Kuria on the launch of your manifesto in your quest to be a servant of the great people of Kiambu as their 4th Governor. You have my prayers and those of my family in your journey to serve," stated Gachagua.

The Kenya Kwanza's second captain said he was honoured and privileged to have been invited to listen to Kuria's vision for the economic liberation of Kimabu people and the restoration of their dignity.

"I share your stated stand that there is no honour in leading people who are ever in tears and feel helpless. There is joy in leading people who are happy, joyous, and smiling. That is our point of convergence. All the best my friend Moses Kuria," added Gachagua.

This comes despite the reports that Kuria was solidly behind Speaker of the National Assembly Justin Muturi against Gachagua to be nominated into the position of Ruto's running mate.

However, the vocal Gatundu South MP has remained steadfast in his support for Ruto and Gachagua. He is among the few MPs and mobilizers who have been tasked with accompanying Ruto and Gachagua to their campaign trails as other teams campaign separately in other parts of the country.

Kuria will be facing off with Kimani Wamatangi (UDA) William Kabogo (Tujibebe Party) James Nyoro (Jubilee) and Patrick Wainaina (Independent) among others for the highly coveted Kiambu county seat
