Former State House Chief of Staff and Head of the President's Delivery Unit Nzioka Waita was on Wednesday, June 1, awarded the Moran of the Golden Heart, MGH, by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
In a short award ceremony at Uhuru Gardens during the 59th Madaraka Day celebrations, Waita received the award for his exemplary work as the President’s head of delivery.
While being handed the award, Waita was described to have created a strong delivery office that gave the president a line of sight with his administration's key development projects and programmes.

The former State House chief of staff resigned from his role a few months ago to contest for the Machakos gubernatorial seat in the August 9 polls.
In his farewell statement, Waita thanked the President for the opportunity to serve Kenyans in various capacities after over a 7-year tenure in Uhuru’s government.
"As I bid farewell to the House on the Hill, I wish to thank the President for the honour of appointing me to be a member of his administration and for allowing me the humbling privilege to serve the people of Kenya in various different capacities over the past seven years," Waita stated.
On his part, the President thanked Waita for his exemplary work, including oversighting implementation of flagship government projects as Head of the PDU.
