Somalia Ambassador to Kenya Mohamed Ahmed Nur Tarsan on Tuesday, June 14 abruptly walked out of a meeting convened by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The ambassador to Kenya stormed out after President Kenyatta invited Somaliland officials to the meeting.
Mr. Tarsan is said to have been angered by the Kenyan government's decision to invite Somaliland officials in the status of Ambassadors and placed the two flags of Somalia and Somaliland at State House.
In a statement issued by Somaliland on Tuesday evening, they condemned Ambassador Tarsan for walking out saying that it showed the hatred of Somalia towards Somaliland.
"The Government of the Republic of Somaliland is disappointed about the actions taken by the Ambassador of Somalia, who today abruptly walked out of a diplomatic lunch reception. the reception was held by the President of the Republic of Kenya H.E President Uhuru Kenyatta and was intended for the diplomatic community in Nairobi.

"The ambassador of Somalia left due to his views on the participation of the Republic of Somaliland at the event. Having said that, this clearly demonstrates the hatred, and long-term enmity of Somalia towards the Republic of Somaliland and its people," part of the statement read by the Ministry of foreign affairs of Somaliland.
Somaliland stated that they aspire to live in peace and tranquility with their neighbours including Somalia.
