An Image of Azimio Presidential Running mate Martha Karua at a meeting with TSP party leader Mwangi Kiunjuri and Former MP Kabando wa Kabando has gone viral on Social media.

The image has been shared widely on social media by affiliates of the Azimio coalition who have implied that the meeting took place on Wednesday morning.

Some said the meeting came ahead of Kiunjuri's unveiling as an Azimio member at Kerugoya Stadium where Karua is expected to hold a mega rally on Wednesday.

It was alleged that the meeting was held to make final touches on his entry to Azimio.

Though Nairobi Leo could not verify whether Kiunjuri is joining Azimio by the time of going to press, our fact-check desk has established that the image is old.

The image was taken in February 2021. The leader had held a meeting at one of the City's hotels.

The image was first shared by Karua on her Facebook page last year.

While sharing the image, Karua said: "I got an opportunity to share a cup of tea with friends".

Also, though Kiujuri has been showing signs of discomfort in the Kenya Kwanza camp, he is yet to declare his exit from the Deputy President William Ruto-led alliance.
