Garissa Township Member of Parliament Aden Duale has given his insights on the 2022 Kenyan political landscape.
Speaking during a recent interview, Duale stated that it should not come as surprise if ODM leader Raila Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto team up during the 2022 elections.
According to Duale, there are no permanent political friends and enemies hence such a team should not be dismissed.
The former National Assembly Majority Leader, however, pointed out that Raila might be the reason why President Uhuru and Ruto are no longer close.
“Pres. Kenyatta & DP Ruto were very close in 2017, after 2017, there was now an elephant in the room. There are no permanent enemies in politics, it is possible for them to reconcile. Raila Odinga, William Ruto & Pres. Kenyatta might even team up in 2022,” said Duale.

Since the March 2018 handshake between President Uhuru and Raila divisions emerged in Jubilee with leaders taking positions.
Leaders who were in top positions like Duale were axed in what was blamed on the handshake between the two leaders.
Furthermore, Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen was also axed by the Jubilee party over his criticism of the president.
In 2007, both Raila and Ruto worked together in the ODM Party but lost to Mwai Kibaki in a controversial poll that resulted in post-election violence.
However, the two leaders fell out in 2009 over the controversial Mau forest evictions.
