Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo now says the nomination of Martha Karua as Raila Odinga's running mate has reduced the popularity of Kenya Kwanza in the Mt. Kenya region.
In an interview with NTV on Monday, Kabogo said that things were no longer the same in Mt Kenya for Kenya Kwanza since the nomination of Karua.
According to the former Kiambu Governor, the nomination of Rigathi Gachagua as William Ruto's running mate brought some problems.
"The nomination of Martha Karua has eroded the popularity of Kenya Kwanza in Mt Kenya. Karua's nomination gobbled at least 4 percent of DP William Ruto's popularity in the region. The nomination of Rigathi Gachagua as Ruto's deputy has brought problems," Kabogo stated.
Kabogo said that it was the uncomfortable truth that some people didn't want to hear but it was the reality.

According to a recent poll by Infotrak, Odinga seems to be gaining ground in the Mt Kenya region after the nomination of Karua.
"What we see in this research is that the naming of the running mates had a great impact on the popularity of the candidates in some regions," Infotrak Research CEO Angela Ambitho said.
Despite Ruto leading in all Mt Kenya counties, the former Prime Minister would get over a million votes.
