President Uhuru Kenyatta has called on Kenyans not to elect leaders who will take the country back in regards to land reforms.
Speaking on Wednesday at KICC when he launched the national issuance of title deeds, the President said that land cartels were regrouping to slow the pace of land reforms.
The Head of State urged Kenyans to elect leaders who will propel the land reforms agenda and not those who would take the country back.
“Ata nyinyi wale mtachagua, msichague watu ambao wataturudisha kwa enzi ya wizi na mambo mengine. Tunataka wale ambao watasongesha hii agenda na kuhakikisha kwamba kila mkenya ako na haki yake na mali yake,” President Kenyatta said.

"Kuna wengine kazi yao ilikuwa kuzunguka Kenya kuangalia mashamba ambayo hayana watu, hiyo enzi imepita," the President added.
The President further acknowledged the steps that have been taken in land reform by his government, which have made land transactions easy and convenient.
The Head of State further maintained that the question of land had lingered for a long time, but he was proud that Kenyans now had the answer.
“Kenyans have been talking about the land question for a long time, and what we needed was an answer. Nine years later, I can stand before you, and say that the question has been significantly been answered,” Uhuru stated.
He acknowledged the young people who had been hired by the government to develop systems that enabled the digitalization of the land matters.
