Ruto sent UDA secretary General Veronica and his head of Presidential campaign Josephat Nanok.

Deputy President William Ruto was a no-show on Wednesday at a meeting convened by IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati.

The DP who was among the presidential candidates invited for talks in preparation for the August 9, polls did not attend the meeting in person even as his competitors presented themselves.

Nairobileo.co.ke has learnt that the DP sent UDA secretary General Veronica and his head of Presidential campaign Josephat Nanok to represent him.

Ruto is in Tharaka Nithi County where he is hosting a county economic forum.

ODM leader Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua were present.

George Wajackoya of the Roots Party and David Wahiga Mwaure of the Agano party also attended the meeting in person. 

The meeting is set to iron out a number of issues regarding the IEBC preparation ahead of the August Polls.

The meeting will give candidates to raise concerns about the status of the polls and get answers from Chebukati.

Chebukati is the returning officer of a presidential election.
