A poll result released by TIFA Research on Thursday, July 14, has revealed popular governor candidates in Murang’a, Kisii, Trans Nzoia, Nyamira and Isiolo counties.
According to the poll, Murang’a senator Irungu Kang’ata was leading in the race for the Murang’a gubernatorial seat in the August polls.
The UDA candidate garnered 58 percent in the poll with Jubilee Party’s Jamleck Kamau coming in second with a popularity of 13 percent.
In Kisii County, ODM party candidate Simba Arati was leading with a whopping 66 percent while UDA’s Ezekiel Machogu was second with 11 percent.
They further detailed that former Rift Valley Regional Commissioner George Natembeya could be elected as Trans Nzoia County governor if elections were held today.

Natembeya led with a support of 56 percent while his closest competitor Kimilili MP Chris Wamalwa was second with a popularity of 21 percent.
In Nyamira County, incumbent governor Amos Nyaribo led with 36 percent while UDA’s Walter Nyambati was second with 19 percent.
In Isiolo County, the TIFA poll revealed that independent candidate Godana Doyo was leading with a popularity of 45 percent.
Nairobi County Assembly Majority Leader Abdi Ibrahim Guyo was second with 34 percent.
The poll involved telephonic interviews and was conducted between July 5 and July 7.
