Deputy President William Ruto has asked his boss, President Uhuru Kenyatta, to be thankful for the support that he accorded him to ascend to the presidency.
Speaking at a rally in Meru County on Thursday, the DP said that he stood with the president in difficult moments and therefore, he should be appreciated.
Ruto said that even if the President did not want to support him for the presidency, he should leave him to face his main competitor Raila Odinga.
“Be a decent guy bwana. Please. Ruto stated.
His remarks came after President Kenyatta on Wednesday urged Nakuru residents to vote for the Azimio presidential candidate in the upcoming August general election.
According to the Head of State, the DP needed time to lower his temper and stop insults before he assumed the country’s leadership.
“Ata hawa wengine ni wetu. Lakini inaonekana they need time ya kutulia, kuwach matusi, kuwavha speed nyingi na kujua ya kwamba kazi na ukweli washinda matusi na chuki,” the President said.
