The announcement came after a meeting between IEBC and presidential agents.

The Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has issued an update on the printing of Forms 34B after a concern that they had not been printed.

Speaking after a consultative meeting with presidential agents on Friday, IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati stated that forms were currently being printed.

Chebukati said that the forms will be managed at the constituency level by the returning officer in charge of the constituency and the forms will be delivered in the country together with the rest of the ballot material remaining.

“There was an issue that it has not been printed and now went to state that 34B is being printed and will be delivered in the country together with the other ballot material remaining and then will be sent directly to the constituency tallying centres,” Chebukati said.

He said that the forms were not meant to be packaged together with form 34A because it was meant to be used by the returning officer.

Chebukati further said that the changes that they had discussed and agreed upon in the meeting with the presidential agents will be gazetted by IEBC immediately.

Among the changes was the shelving of the use of one booklet of Form 34A which was earlier being printed as two forms.

“The fears have been expressed and we have a lengthy discussion and the outcome of that discussion is that we shall only use one booklet the first booklet for transmission of presidential election results. We shall only use one booklet of Form 34A,” Chebukati said.
