Supporters of the Azimio La Umoja Coalition Party trooped in their numbers to the Moi Kasarani Sports Centre on Saturday morning.

The political outfit is holding its final political rally at the venue ahead of this week's General Election.

As seen in live photos and videos on social media, the venue was yet to be full as more supporters made their way there ahead of the coalition's high-ranking luminaries.

At the stadium, branded campaign merchandise was being handed out to those in attendance.

A commotion ensued as the supporters scrambled for the gear being distributed; amateur photos and clips online proved the same.

The Azimio rally is happening parallel to the one of Kenya Kwanza at Nyayo Stadium.

The two rival factions have interestingly settled on Nairobi as the host of their respective final meetings before the much-waited August 9 polls.

The elections management body IEBC had specified that political campaigns would come to a halt 48 hours before the vote.

The campaigns have been running for the past three months within which aspirants marshalled support for their respective political bids.

Over 16,000 candidates are eyeing the 1,882 elective posts.
