Chebukati is expected to announce the president-elect in the just concluded August 9, 2022, general election after the verification of presidential results per constituency came to an end.
UDA presidential candidate William Ruto and his Azimio counterpart Raila Odinga are the leading candidates in the race and Chebukati is likely to announce one of them as president-elect.
Meanwhile, the Agano presidential candidate has already conceded defeat in the race to State House.
Mwaure on Sunday said that the move came after consultations with the party’s team that was following the verification process at Bomas.
“We wish to concede defeat in the August 9, 2022, presidential elections with verification ongoing at Bomas. This we are doing after seeing our what our performance has been and after deep discussions with our teams in Bomas and consulting widely,” Mwaure stated.
At the same time, he endorsed the UDA presidential candidate claiming that by the numbers, he was leading in the race.
