Raila Odinga's Aide Sailas Jakakimba has ruled out any possible ceasefire between the ODM leader and his main political challenger president-elect William Ruto.
The idea of a political truce between the two main players in national politics was brought forth by Bungoma senator Moses Wetang'ula.
According to the lawmaker, a Rut-Raila truce would help lessen the political tension in the country after the General Election.
Speaking on the matter, Jakakimba said Raila would not be in for such an arrangement.
"Senator Wetang'ula, Raila is not ready for your 'Handshake' request with anyone. The Whole Mandate will be his to caretake& steward for Equitable & Just Governance for the Welfare of 50 million Kenyans - constitutionally. That moment isn't remote, it's both real &, nigh," he said.
Raila was floored in the presidential vote by his main opponent Ruto.
As declared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairman Wafula Chebukati, Ruto garnered over 7.1 million votes to win the presidential election.
Trailing him as the first runner-up would be Raila who garnered over 6.9 million votes.
The Azimio La Umoja leader however disputed the results citing Chebukati's alleged violation of the law and mismanagement of the polls.
"Chebukati did not entertain any discussions of the results... we know what happened next. Our view in Azimio is clear; the figures announced by Chebukati are null and void and must be quashed by a court of law. He acted with gross impunity and total disregard," Raila said while breaking his silence on the vote outcome.
The ODM boss has since vowed to stage a legal battle at the Supreme Court in what he said is pursuit of justice.
