The head teacher collapsed on her way to school before she was rushed to the hospital and pronounced dead.

The Head teacher of Shitoto Girls Secondary School in Kakamega County has died.

Lily Mbati collapsed on Monday, August 22 while on her way to school before being rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Ms. Mbati was a resident of Ekero village, Mumias East, and the cause of her death was not immediately discovered.

Her colleagues in the school described her as a dedicated teacher who went out of her way to ensure that the school progressed in all aspects.

Ms. Mbati’s body was moved to Mumias Mission Hospital mortuary awaiting an autopsy.

Her death comes after Migingo Girls High School Deputy Principal was allegedly killed by her son.

Roseline Nyawada was found dead in a bathroom of her house when her other sons came to visit at around 8 pm on Sunday.

According to the police, Roseline's son, Jeff Onyango Nyawada, is suspected to have set her ablaze after dousing her with paraffin under unclear circumstances.

“Officers from Rabuor Police station were informed of the incident and they responded immediately. They recovered paraffin in a mug and noted that the bathroom’s walls had been blackened with a smudge soot. Also recovered from the scene was a kitchen knife besides the woman’s body and a lantern lamp with an open knob,” the police said.

The suspect has been since arrested by the police as he helps in the investigation.
