Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has congratulated Mombasa ODM Gubernatorial candidate Abdulswamad Nassir.
This is after preliminary results showed that Nassir would trounce UDA's Hassan Omar to win the Mombasa gubernatorial race.
Provisional results showed that from five of the county’s six constituencies, Nassir was leading with 101,658 votes while Omar had 88,352 with Likoni pending.
In a message via social media platforms on Tuesday, August 30, Sonko thanked his supporters who voted for Hassan Omar in Monday's by-elections.
The former Governor also stated that "When you are in any competition, your competitor is not your enemy but your opponent."
