A suicide note of a form three girl who committed suicide at Tala girls high school in Machakos has emerged.
Francisca Dokee, aged 16, was discovered dead at the school dormitory on August 31 by the school deputy principal Jane Katumbi.
The matter was reported at Tala Police Station.
The discovery came after Dokee had a case with the school management on accusations that she had stolen Sh2500 and a packet of pencils.
In that suicide note seen by Nairobi Leo, the girl detailed how she tried in vain to convince the school management that she did not steal.
"I explain something, you create your own. I told you guys that am not responsible for the lost pencils, but you still believe in your own instincts that I am the one," the note seen by the Star read in part.
"Well, only God knows. Since I don't want to cause more trouble in this school and make my mom suffer again because of me, let me cut off. May God bless you for always encouraging me BYEBYE, coming to meet you Dad," it read.
She also had an emotional message to the mum and wished her and the brother well.
"For my mum, bye and I really love you so much. You occupy half of my heart while bro occupies another half. I hope that God may bless the work of your hands and also pray that my bro can succeed in his KCPE," she said.
"I beg, pray, hope that you will not involve my mum in this because she can die very soon and she still has some tasks to do for my siblings. Hope so mother."
One of the deceased's relative who accompanied her mother, Magdalene Mueni, during a postmortem conducted at Kangundo Level 4 Hospital on Friday read the note to journalists.
A postmortem revealed that the girl succumbed of suffocation. A confirmation she committed suicide.
"The postmortem has revealed that the child died by suicide. It's ok," the relative said.
The parents are now demanding answers from the school administration and have faulted them for their kin's death.
"These are minor souls, they should be handled carefully. Talk to them and take proper disciplinary action. Threatening children to the extent of taking their own lives isn't good. The child left a note saying....," She added.
"We accept all because we have nothing to do. We will take the body and go burry."
