Kenya Airways has confirmed the death of a passenger who had boarded one of its flights at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
In a statement on Wednesday, September 14, KQ disclosed that the passenger developed breathing complications while boarding their plane to Mombasa.
“Kenya Airways PLC (KQ) regrets to announce that a passenger developed breathing difficulties this evening while boarding KQ612 that was scheduled to depart for Mombasa at 1900hours.
“The passenger was pronounced dead by medical personnel at JKIA while the aircraft was still on the ground. The JKIA health and security are currently handling the issue," KQ said in a statement.
This is the third case in less than a month.

“Kenya Airways PLC (KQ) confirms that on Friday, September 2, at around 6:30 am, KQ002, on a scheduled flight from Nairobi to New York, a passenger was found to be unresponsive.
“Upon further investigation, medical personnel on board confirmed that the passenger had passed away. The flight had departed Nairobi as per schedule on Thursday, September 1, at 11:55 pm,” read the statement by Kenya Airways.
On 22nd August, Kenya Airways announced the death of one of their passengers aboard a flight from New York to Nairobi.
