Interior Cabinet Secretary (CS) Fred Matiang'i has declared Monday, October 10, a public holiday.
In a statement to newsrooms on Friday, October 7, Matiang'i noted that day will be set to mark Utamaduni Day. The Interiors CS urged Kenyans to honor the day by celebrating our cultural diversity.
"It is hereby notified that Monday, October 10, 2022, will be a public holiday (Utamaduni Day).

"All citizens are reminded to honour the day by recognizing and celebrating the rich cultural diversity of Kenya in a manner that promotes our unity, national cohesion, and economic progress," part of the statement read.
