Former National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi says he is approximately worth Sh700 million.
Muturi made the revelation on Monday, October 17, while appearing before the Vetting Committee on Appointments at the National Assembly.
"My net worth is estimated at just about Ksh. 700M. I am a farmer, I do consultancies, otherwise, I am now a pensioner as a retired National Assembly speaker," Muturi stated.
Muturi, who has been nominated for the Attorney General position in President William Ruto's administration, says a robust legal management system will help the principal legal adviser stay on top of all government engagements and advise appropriately.
"There is a need for ministries and departments to involve the office of the Attorney General before entering into commercial contracts to help curb 'wrong deals/contracts' where government loses money," Muturi told the committee.

The former National Assembly speaker was also asked to comment about the recent corruption cases that were dropped by DPP Noordin Haji against Aisha Jumwa and Ben Chumo.
"This is a mandate of the DPP, and since the reasons why the cases were dropped were not made public, it would be premature to start ascribing particular positions on the matter," he stated.
