Drama ensued on Wednesday, October 19, at the Meru County Assembly chambers after the MCAs of the assembly refused to be addressed by the county governor, Kawira Mwangaza.
In a video seen by Nairobileo.co.ke, the MCAs vacated the chambers as the governor was making her official address, leaving the chambers empty.
Mwangaza was heard continuing with her speech even as the MCAs swiftly left the chambers one after the other.
Speaking to the press on Tuesday, a section of the MCAs faulted Governor Mwangaza for not involving them in the running of the county, promising to deny her audience.
They alleged that the governor had no time to talk to them when they sought her, as she did not even pick their calls.

"As an assembly comprising of 69 members and our speaker, who is the 70th member, we have resolved that we are not going to listen to the governor's address, which was scheduled tomorrow (Wednesday) in the afternoon.
"Reasons being that we have sought audience with the governor for the last two weeks seeking to have a sitting with her so that we can discuss on the way forward on how we are going to work for the people of Meru which have been to no avail. Therefore, we feel if the governor has no time to hear our needs, we are also not ready as an assembly to give her an audience," one of the MCAs said.
The MCAs further alleged that the county boss's officers were demeaning them, maintaining that they needed respect from the office of the governor.
They said that they needed to have a working relationship with Mwangaza for the county to move forward smoothly.
