Kalonzo in a press briefing faulted the president for making unilateral decisions in the absence of his cabinet.

Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has launched a fresh onslaught against President William Ruto accusing him of being a dictator.

Kalonzo in a press briefing faulted the president for making unilateral decisions in the absence of his cabinet, a matter he termed as illegal.

The Wiper boss said the ongoing purge at the DCI is a manifestation of Ruto's dictatorial plot saying he seeking to solely control his government.

"As believers of the rule of law and due process, we are concerned about the trajectory the regime is taking. We are constrained to ask, in the absence of the Cabinet, who is making these decisions and coming up with fundamental proposals that President Ruto is declaring," he said.

The Wiper boss went further and said the President is taking full responsibility for running the government to himself instead of having systems that can act as a unit.

"We are staring at the emergence of personalized dictatorship in which a leader decides to avoid constraints and decides not to consult anyone and any institution on decision making... It is simply a one-man show," he said.

Kalonzo said the move by the DP is likely to birth a dangerous autocrat something he warned would water the gains the country has made in terms of democracy.

"This kind of approach has a very high chance of miscalculations. This personalized approach will give president William Ruto the latitude to change his mind on a whim. This is a recipe for volatile policies."
