Siaya senator Oburu Odinga has undergone a successful knee surgery at a hospital in India.
Speaking to Indian broadcaster TV5 News on Saturday, the lawmaker said that he was recuperating well from the surgery as he hailed the services he received at the hospital.
Oburu, who is the elder brother to ODM leader Raila Odinga, said that the treatment in India was good and that it was cheaper compared to the treatment in Kenya.
"Since I came, I have received the best treatment that I could get. I have been treated in Kenyan hospitals before. Nairobi Hospital is my hospital in Kenya but I find the treatment here in India to be good treatment and also cheap," Oburu stated.

The senator claimed that Kenyan hospitals overcharged patients, a reason he said made many Kenyans to travel to India to seek for treatment.
Oburu further said that it was not because his knee could not be treated in Kenya but it could have costed him three times of what he was charged for treatment in India.
"It is not because Kenya could not treat my knee. But it is because if I treated my knee in Kenya, it could have cost me three times more than what it has cost me in India," Oburu stated.
He said that he was looking forward to recover fully from the procedure and return to Kenya to enjoy his favourite sport, golf.
