 Huduma Kenya has announced changes in working hours in 18 centres across the country.

Huduma Kenya has announced changes in working hours in 18 centers across the country starting December 5, 2022.

In a statement on Tuesday, November 29, Huduma Kenya stated that the centers will be working on a 12-hour basis i.e. from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The centres are Nairobi GPO, City Square, Makadara, Kibra, Eastleigh, Kiambu, Nakuru, Eldoret, Nyeri, Embu, Meru, Laikipia, Kisii, Kitale, Kericho, Kakamega, Kisumu and Mombasa.

"Good morning, team mapema ndio best and for those who'd like to access services past 5pm, we have great news for you. A first on public service delivery. Starting 5/12/22, we shall start serving Mwananchi from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.," read a statement by Huduma Kenya.

Huduma centres across the country have previously been opening for services from 8 a.m to 5 p.m.

On November 1, Public Service and Gender Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa pledged to extend the working hours of Huduma Centres across the country.

Jumwa said that in her first 100 days in office, she was committed to ensuring that the centres work for 12 hours in a day.

"Monday, being my first day in office, I committed to expand the reach of the Huduma Kenya Service Delivery Programme; and the Ministry of Public Service, Gender and Affirmative Action will undertake the following in the next 100 days:

"Launch Extended Working Hrs in 18 Huduma Centres nationally including Nrb GPO which will offer highly sought services from 7:00am to 7:00pm; In line with this, the Ministry has commenced extending working hrs on a shift basis for the Huduma Contact Centre from 7am to 9pm," she stated.

Services provided by huduma centres include issuance of police abstracts, issuance of birth and death certificates, issuance of certificates of good conduct, KRA certificate and HELB certificate.
