President William Ruto has secured 7 deals totaling Ksh 107 billion ($823 million) during his visit to China.
The Head of State on Wednesday, April 23, witnessed the signing of the multi-billion investment deals with Chinese companies.

"At the Kenya-China Investor Roundtable in Beijing, I witnessed the signing of seven deals by Chinese companies that intend to invest in Kenya with new projects. The investment deals span the manufacturing, agriculture, and tourism sectors," Ruto said in a statement.
Under manufacturing, the government secured a 19.5 billion ($150 million) deal from China Wu Yi company for manufacturing, processing, warehousing in Kajiado/Kilifi County and investment in Tatu Special economic zone, Konza Technopolis, near Jomo Kenyatta International Airport Machakos, Athi River, Kileleshwa Project Factory.
The government also secured Ksh 2.6 billion from Chongqing Shengsheng Apparel Group company and Ksh 6.5 billion from Beijing Shenzhou Zhonghe Education Technology company.

In the agriculture sector Kenya finalized a Ksh 52 billon deal Zonken Group and a Ksh 3.9 billion funding from Shandong Jiajiali Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Technology company.
The Ruto administration further secured a Ksh 2.9 billion deal from Biltmore Manhattan Hotel Management company for a construction of a 5-star hotel in Nairobi.
President Ruto is currently on a 4-day state visit to China. The President arrived in China on Tuesday evening in the company of First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto and other government officials.
During the visit, the Head of State will engage in bilateral discussions with President Xi Jinping.
"While in Beijing, the President will hold bilateral talks with President Xi Jinping to advance shared priorities in economic transformation, sustainable development, and global cooperation,” State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohammed said in a statement.
Ruto is expected to open the Kenya Tea Holding Centre in Fujian Province, a move seen as a way to empower smallholder farmers and expand Kenya’s market presence in Asia.
Additionally, he will hold discussions with Chinese leadership on a broader range of global and regional issues.
